BESS units primarily emit noise from their cooling systems, but balance of system (BOS) components like inverters and transformers also produce noise emissions.
These battery energy storage systems typically consist of rechargeable batteries, power conversion systems, cooling systems and control electronics. BESS facilities tend to produce high noise levels generated mostly by the compressors and fans in the electrical equipment cooling systems.
The many benefits of battery energy storage systems (BESS) and the ability for them to be deployed in a relatively small footprint, means that we may soon be seeing them everywhere.
