Depending on the charging capacity shown in Table 1 for this fast-charging battery, the temperature setting of the power battery thermal management system is set from 20 °C to 45 °C.
Secondly, theoretical simulations and experimental studies were conducted for low-temperature fast-charging and high-temperature fast-charging operating conditions. The experimental results show that the designed battery thermal management system has good cooling effect and temperature uniformity.
It was discovered that the TEC system has a substantial impact on the pack's cooling performance and keeps the battery temperature lower than 30 °C. Increasing the flow rates on both the cold and hot sides of the battery will potentially lower the average battery cell temperature by 3 °C–5 °C.
At a voltage of 3.4 V, the cPCM could heat up an eight-cell module at a rate of 13.4 °C/min, as shown in Fig. 16, with a maximum temperature difference of 3.3°C between cells. Moreover, during high- rate discharge (3 C), cPCM can also reduce the battery temperature from 77°C to 43°C.
