How does the car battery booster circuit work?

The secret of this circuit is to have a small auxiliary battery with a capacity of 1 or 2 amps/h. How the Car Battery booster circuit works? When the ignition switch is turned ON, the R2 resistor, the zener diode (ZD1) and the relay (RLA), connect the auxiliary battery Bat 1 to the starter circuit.

What is the booster part used for?

The Booster part is used to boost the battery voltage from 3.7v to 4.5v-6v. Here in this circuit, we used a USB Type-A Female Connector on the Booster side and a Micro USB 2.0 B type 5 Pin Connector on the Charger side. What are the components of a boost converter?

All it has is an inductor, a semiconductor switch, a diode and a capacitor. The boost converter is very simple and requires very few components, this is because they were originally designed and developed in the 1960s to power electronics on aircraft. The biggest advantage of a boost converter is it offers very high efficiency.

How does a boost converter work?

The diode permits current to flow from the inductor to the capacitor, but not vice versa. In short, a boost converter stores energy in an inductor’s magnetic field, then transfers that energy to a capacitor in such a way that the capacitor’s voltage can increase beyond the voltage of the source that supplied energy to the inductor.

D1 and D2 diodes must be 50 V and withstand 10 amperes minimum. The relay must have enough capacity to withstand the current demand of the car starter. A relay of 6 Volts / 5 Amps will work properly.
