A very simple low battery cut-off and overload protection circuit has been explained here. The figure shows a very simple circuit set up which performs the function of an overload sensor and also as an under voltage detector. In both the cases the circuit trips the relay for protecting the output under the above conditions.
When the batteries are often fully discharged, their lives will be shortened and destroyed in a few weeks. Therefore, when your battery is weak or needs recharging it is best to remove your battery from the load. So today we are going to discuss “Low Battery Voltage Cuttoff OR Disconnect Circuit”.
When the wire loop is removed, the BP disconnects the load after 90 seconds. However, if the wire loop remains plugged in and the battery voltage drops below the programmed value for under voltage shutdown (see section Programming ), the BP disconnects the load after 90 seconds automatically.
Don't care if it utilizes a single momentary button, individual on/off buttons, or a switch. Ideally zero power draw once the low voltage cutoff trips, or extremely low at the very least. The last requirement is the one that has been giving me trouble. A perfect circuit would trip, and then stop drawing any current at all.
When the battery voltage falls beyond a certain low voltage threshold, the base current of T2 becomes sufficiently low such that it's no longer able to hold the relay into conduction and switches it OFF and also the load. The"LOAD" terminals in the above diagram is supposed to be connected with the inverter +/- supply terminals.
This section describes the behaviour of the BatteryProtect when it is controlled via the remote on/off input and when a short circuit has been detected. The BatteryProtect will connect the load 1 second after the remote input is closed. The BatteryProtect will disconnect the load immediately when the remote input is opened.
The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank …
2. Shut down solar (if you have) by disconnecting panels. You can also isolate from the battery if that is set up. 3. Shut down incoming AC . 4. Switch off inverter (front rocker …
