Old mobile phone batteries can be reused in various projects. I have been using used batteries in my projects after discovering a module on eBay. The module comes with a Li-ion charger and a voltage regulator, enabling the increase of the Li-ion battery's voltage from the standard 3.7V's to up to 30V's.
