In this investigation, the MES applied by solar cell is named SCMES, and divided into 7 modules, including work order management, Lot management, WIP management, quality control management, machine management, process parameter management, and system management, each of which is explained in details as follows:
The solarcell industry in Taiwan has joined SEMI organization officially since May, 2008. It is believed that future production management will adopt the past production management experiences of semiconductor plants to ascend the operation achievements of the industry.
The production management models of the industry such as production indices, machine status analysis, and quality analysis are analyzed and counted with Excel by labors and saved in separate individual files, which results in a lack of an integrated platform for strategic analysis for the production managers in the solar cell industry.
Since 2008, production has been running at full speed and every day more than 3,000 premium modules roll out of the factory. This paper outlines the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) process put in place by Conergy during the planning phase of the factory, to monitor and control the complex and merging production processes.
3. Establish SCMES according to the analysis on the present condition of solarcell Industry. The theoretical foundation is the “prototyping” proposed by information system establishment. Applying the theoretical design, this study designs solar cell developing flow and relevant documents required during the execution process.
Furthermore, the present international major MES plants, such as IBM and American applied material company, are not in possession of MES customized for solar Industry. Relevant studies indicate that the introduction of MES in solarcell industry is beneficial to enhancing production management efficiency and product quality.
