Airbus has developed a structured and modular energy transformation roadmap applicable to all of its aerospace solutions. The roadmap includes a range of technologies such as Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), hydrogen either directly burnt or transformed into electricity through fuel cells, or new hybrid-electric propulsion systems.
Airbus, we are harvesting the sun’s energy to power the high-endurance, solar-powered stratospheric flight of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Dai Jianfeng, a deputy chief engineer of China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute, said the new energy storage in China has been developed through diverse technology routes. According to him, lithium-ion battery is still dominant at present, but the development of compressed air and liquid flow battery is accelerating.
