Does corrosion affect the life span of EESC batteries?

Only a few recent reports addressed corrosion in other types of batteries. Despite these results, corrosion and degradation remain significant concerns in reducing the life span of EESC devices. Careful studies in optimizing the system‘s components and formulating standards and protocols could reduce the severity.

Are MIB batteries corrosion prone?

MIBs and MABs have been the most studied batteries for various corrosion issues in the last decade. A few works were reported on Pb-acid, Ni-metal hydride (Ni-MH), redox flow, and other types of batteries. Only a few recent reports are available on corrosion in Pb-acid and Ni-MH batteries.

Should electrochemical stability and mechanical safety evaluation of batteries be emphasized?

Considering the side-effect of electrode corrosion, it should be indicated that the electrochemical stability and mechanical safety evaluation of batteries should be brought to the forefront immediately, rather than just focusing on electrochemical performance improvement in batteries.
