The lead–acid battery is a battery technology with a long history. Typically, the lead–acid battery consists of lead dioxide (PbO 2), metallic lead (Pb), and sulfuric acid solution (H 2 SO 4) as the negative electrode, positive electrode, and electrolyte, respectively (Fig. 3) .
