Connect the incoming Neutral (N) wire to to the 2nd slot on the meter. On the Load side, connect the Outgoing Neutral in the 3rd slot. Connect the wires to the corresponding places on your new electrical meter by slipping them into the appropriate spot and screwing it down with the screwdriver. The line side wires should connect to the upper terminals on the new meter, while the bottom terminals are for the load side wires.
You’ll need to agree a day and time for your smart meter installation. You should get a confirmation of your appointment by email, message or phone. Ask for one if you don’t get it. A trained installer from your energy firm, or a company working for it, will fit your smart meters. You will need to be at home for the appointment.
