Lithium-ion batteries have been widely used as energy storage for electric vehicles (EV) due to their high power density and long lifetime. The high capacity and large quantity of battery cells in EV as well as the high standards of vehicle safety and reliability call for the agile and adaptive battery management system (BMS).
But the conditions of use are stricter. Therefore, nearly all lithium batteries on the market need to design a lithium battery management system. to ensure proper charging and discharging for long-term, reliable operation. A well-designed BMS, designed to be integrated into the battery pack design, enables monitoring of the entire battery pack.
Based on a realistic dedicated-line freight transportation scenario, a modeling framework that incorporates the daily operation of the ET fleet and the long-term battery degradation is developed, which decides on the optimal configuration of the BSS. Then a tractable solution procedure is proposed to efficiently and globally solve the problem.
